January 1st, 2004 - Yet Another Year
Once again we start another year, and once again it seems like last year never happened, it went by so quick. Well, last year didn't go nearly close to as I had planned so I'm taking a more proactive roll towards the direction of my career. This could be a good thing, or a bad thing. Only time will tell. Perhaps a completed change of not only a duty station, but a completely different lifestyle will give me what I want from the Navy. I can't think of any reasons why my request would be denied, so only time will tell.
On a separate note, this website seems to have become more of a glorified personal log than anything. Not exactly what I intended. Since Gateway screwed me on my server two years ago, (I still have the thing for some reason) I haven't really gotten the chance to do what I wanted. Perhaps if I get some time away from work and my personal project, I'll think of something to do with what I have. That server is still for sale, by the way, for anyone who's interested.
Things seem to be panning out well on my current project of the PHP photo album thing. Think I'm going to call it PhPhoto. Then I was thinking of naming the posting/message board system PhPost. I've come to realize why projects like this require a team of people to do. I just recently reformatted my site, changing everything I could to CSS, and that took like 6 hours. This project is definitely no light undertaking. I should be able to plow though it given time so long as I try to organize all my thoughts and plans before I do any coding. I wouldn't mind a little help, but finding anyone who would be interested in working on any computer project, let alone one written in PHP, where I am is damn near impossible. There just isn't anyone around here that's a big enough computer geek. If they are here, they must be holed up in some basement somewhere, cause I can't find them. Also, while I was looking though my site recently, I noticed that most of my pages are grossly out of date, need to fix that.
Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. Happy New Year Everyone!
